 Outlook 98 Help Required

Hi all

I have installed Outlook 98 and have sent my first e-mail using this
program. When I did this a usefull window came up showing the status
of the receiving and sending of the e-mail. Unfortunately I have been
tinkering and have now lost this window - all I get now is a small
message  saying "checking for new messages and sending outgoing
messages" with just a cancel button.
Please can anyone tell me how I can get back the original window.

Thanks very much

Terry

Sounds like one of the "tinkering things" that you did was to switch modes
from Internet Mail Only mode to Corporate mode. You can find more info about
the modes (and switching them) here:

I changed from Internet Only to Corporate mode, and it does appear that the
two modes give differing messages when sending/recieving. Personally, I
quite liked the window in the 'Internet Only' mode. I could see EAXCTLY what
the OL98 program was doing. Now all I get is 'Sending/recieving' If there
are a large number of mesgs to download, then I have no idea what's going
on.
If anyone does know how to get this 'window back' I for one would be most
appreciative. I wanted the the Corp mode as I access my Lotus Notes Address
book.
Thanks.

You can't have the IMO progress dialog along with the use of MAPI transports
or address books (like the Lotus Notes one) in Corporate mode.
