When I try to delete emails from my inbox, they simple get crossed out and stay as deleted files in my inbox. How do I get rid of them completely? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Deleting emails, not just crossing them out
While connected to your IMAP server (e-amil server), select the purge option from the Edit menu.
