 Drag and Drop Email Messages

Using OL 2002

I frequently drag email messages from Inbox to another folder in Folder
View. 80% of the time this works with no problem.

But, the rest of the time I get an error message "Can't move item." I CAN
right click and "Move to Folder" with no problem at this point, but no
drag-and-drop works. Obviously, I prefer drag-and-drop because it's faster.
If I close OL and re-start, drag-and-drop works fine.

I searched this NG and others and found several other people over the last 6
months who have asked this question but they received no responses to their
posts from anyone. I hope I'll have better luck!

Thanks.

I can think of no other response but, if it works after a shutdown and
restart of Outlook, that it may be a resource problem.   How long has
Outlook been open when this problem happens?  There are other situations
that happen when Outlook has been open for an extended period of time, like
the message being repeated in a .txt attachment.

 Drag and Drop Email Messages
OK, it happened again just a few minutes ago and I realized that it only
happens when I have done a Find or an Advanced Find and I'm trying to move
one of the resulting email messages into aother folder. Obviously, this is
one of the main reasons one would do a Find--in order to move certain things
around!  When I go back to the normal Inbox view, I am, once again, able to
drag-and-drop.

However, I could swear that this has not always been this way.

Does this new info shed any light on the situation?

Thanks.

 Drag and Drop Email Messages
Aha!  It is a known 'feature' that you cannot drag and drop from the Find or
Advanced Find window.  Whether this worked before Outlook 2002 I do not know
as I never keep anything in my in-box.  Everything is moved by rules so when
I do a "find'' it is in the folder where it belongs.
