I have about 1600 names with email address in my Outlook 97 contacts.  I
want to to take the email addresses form the contact to add it to the
personal address book of outlook.

How can I do this?

Also, can I address an email to all the contacts without adding the
information to the personal address book?

That should expose all the electronic addresses of your contacts as an
address book (without adding them to the PAB)

Yes I did have the Outlook Address Book service. What I had to do was click
on the outlook address bar tab and tell check the box to show this as email
address...
