Remote Control of PPT-Show by programmable IR-control device

Hey,

who has experience with IR-remote control of a notebook PPT-show using a
programmable TV/Video remote control ?

It should be possible:

Notebook with IR-interface

TV remote control handset sends commands to control the PPT show.

Could someone help ?

Best Regards

Horst

In theory, it should be possible, yes.  IF you know the way the remote's
bursts of data are encoded and IF you're familiar enough with the low-level
workings of the IR interface on the PC and IF you can write your own code to
deal with it.

You could also buy an inexpensive IR control made for the purpose, one that
just plugs into the computer's serial or other port.  I've seen them for as
little as 35 dollars.
