
Text boxes randomly change attributes

When the files are opened on a different computer, are they being just
opened, or are they being incorporated into another presentation file?
If the former, it could be a display issue (although that would be a
pretty extreme one!), if the latter (which I suspect is what's
happening), it's probably an issue with color schemes.
If you can do a bit more digging on the issue and what exactly the users
are doing when opening the files, we can probably nail this down.

Just apply a new fill to the background--it could be a solid color,
doesn't have to be a picture. Use Format/Background and choose something
else.
