How do I go backwards in slide show with pointing device?

I preparing a presentation, and would like to be able to go to the
previous slide in a slide show. I know it can be done from the keyboard
using p, backspace or left arrow, but I would like to have this
possibility using a (remote) mouse, as I am standing by the keyboard.
I'm using Powerpoint 98 under Windows NT 4.0 service pack 3 and a
logitech Surfman mouse. Doea anybody have a fix using the right or
middle button?

Go to Tools: Options and click the view tab.  Uncheck "Popup menu on
right mouse click."  Now the right mouse button should go to the
previous slide in a slide show.
