Merging two spreadsheets according to one common column

Merging two spreadsheets according to one common column

I need to merge two separate spreadsheets according to a
specific column entry common to both spreadsheets. Can't
use cut and paste (well I could but it would take ages  as
there may well me cases where there aren't matching rows,
plus I'm lazy!). Is there a way of merging them according
to a common column/field and concatenating the two.
Different data in both by the way except for the common
field.

 Thanks in anticipation.

See the help on Match and Index.  If the second sheet has the common column
as its first column, you can use VLOOKUP.
