 Freezing panes without lines

When freezing panes, Excel automatically inserts lines to serve as
visual dividers.  is there anyway to freeze panes without these lines?

 Freezing panes without lines
If you select all of the used area of your spreadsheet and apply a border to
each edge of each cell, then the cell border is the same as the freeze panes
line and you can't distinguish it.  To me, this solution is more visually
unappealing that the freeze pane lines, but I never minded them much anyway.
