autoformatting a document in "outline" view

i am writing an outline, in word 2k using the outline view.  i have
formatted different parts of the text as i go, but word keeps adding its own
formatting which is fine, it just doesn't match my styles.  i don't mind if
word can reformat the entire outline for me as long as the different
indentation levels are consistent as you go down the document.

i tried autoformat and it will change like 1 line in the middle of the 5
page outline to bold ... and that's it.  is there a way to tell word to wipe
any underlying formatting and just reformat the layout nicely for me?

thanks,
tv
