 Vertical alignment: too justified!

Maybe it's just me, but it seems to function perfectly!  If I have a title
page in my document and it has the Title followed by the Company name (2
paragraphs), then it falls out precisely as expected even if I choose later
to add another line to the title, or an address.

:)

 Vertical alignment: too justified!
Hmm,

to see what I mean you'd have to have at least two pages
and you wouldn't want to use the vertical justified
layout unless most of your pages are completely filled
with text. So on a title page I don't really see the
need. This is more about typesetting a book and on all of
your pages you want the text to end flush with the (top
and) bottom margin.

The default "Top" alignment (the default) will leave a
space at the bottom of a page that cannot be filled for
some reason (e.g. a big figure, table, etc.). This is
what I want to avoid. But then the last page of the
respective section/document should not be made flush.

I figure not many people actually know about this type of
page layout and also Word literally does what it says. It
is just very bad typesetting and I don't see a way to
achieve "the correct" behavior. What I meant doesn't have
anything to do with lines. I'd post a sample document,
but I gather that people don't like that here.

 Vertical alignment: too justified!
Have you tried inserting a Continuous section break at the end of the
partial page? Well, darn! Just tried this myself, and it doesn't help.
Sorry! But I agree this is frustrating.

 Vertical alignment: too justified!
On my copies of Word 2000, this scenario still produces a large space at the
bottom. I go so far as to say that Justified is broken Word 2000. The Help
says that partial pages are top aligned, but they aren't, and pages with
large spaces from graphics or figures that won't fit aren't justified...
