Recovering a document that was saved over

Good morning all,

I had a question at the office today and I was wondering
if anybody knew of a way to answer it:

A document was written today and was mistakenly named the
same as an existing document.  The user said "yes" to the
overwrite message and, obviously , the existing document
was overwritten.

The question was, is there anywhere Office stores a temp
of these files or any way to recover the document that was
mistakenly saved over.  I have a feeling it's a
resounding "no", but I thought I'd throw it out to the
experts.

Thanks in advance for your help and have a great day,

Mike

Recovering a document that was saved over
If you have "Always create backup copy" enabled on the Save tab of Tools |
Options, then you will have a "Backup of <filename>.wbk" file representing
the last previous version. It will be in the same folder with the saved
file. You will have to change "Files of type" from "Word Documents" or "All
Word Documents" to "All Word Files" to see it.
