Hi,

One of my clients has a bit of a problem. When he selects Insert-symbol he
can only see squares in the different "boxes". But if he selects one of the
squares and choses insert, the right symbol appears in the word-document.

This is a bit silly, as he now has to guess which symbol is behind the
different squares....

Any suggestions?

This is usually a sign that your video driver is overtaxed, though that's
not the total answer. You can test it by turning down hardware acceleration
on the graphics adapter and/or starting in Safe Mode to see if either solves
the problem. If so, check the video card manufacturer's Web site for an
updated driver.

Hi Eileen,

Usually, upgrading the graphics card driver (and/or printer driver) will
solve this problem. Word's newer versions work drivers pretty hard, so most
manufacturers have had to create upgrades specifically made to work with
them.
