setting up outlook to send/rec mail through lan

Hi,

The subject says it all really, I have a LAN with 6 PC's, I need to give
each PC an e-mail address, so that mail can be sent to others in the group,
but I need to do this without setting up a dial-up-connection so that mails
can be sent/rec'd offline.

Can anyone tell me if this can be done ??

Thanks in anticipation.

A Microsoft Mail Post Office should suffice. You'll find references here:
http://www.slipstick.com/exchange/outlhow.htm
and will need Outlook 98/2000 installed in Corporate/Workgrup mode or
Outlook 97.
