 Outlook Address Book vs Personal Addres Book

I just installed Outlook 97 on a pc that had an existing "Windows Messaging"
client.  The installation convert/moved the Personal Address book form
"Windows Messaging" but it also installed "Outlook  Address Book"  What is
the "Outlook Address Book"?

 Outlook Address Book vs Personal Addres Book
The Outlook Address Book is a service that creates a virtual address book
from your Contacts folder (and other contact type folders.
