I would like to know if there is a way to install outlook
98 on a Windows 2000 Pro machine.

Because of the security in windows 2000 Outlook 98 will
not install.  

The work-a-round for installing outlook 98 on Windows
95/98 is to rename the "wintrust.dll" file to
wintrust.old".  However, this will not work in Windows
2000 because even if you rename the wintrust.dll file,
windows 2000 keeps a copy of the wintrust.dll file and
outlook 98 will not install correctly.
