 Pass an argument to an Access query with sql

I'm using ADO in Excel to retrieve data from Access. My
sql statement is:

"SELECT * FROM qrySample"

That works. But what if I have a criteria in the Access
query that prompts for a value? How can I pass the value
to the query?
