HOW TO: fix toolbars missing in XP

Search for *.xlb

then run (double-click it) and it will restore ALL the original toolbars!

HOW TO: fix toolbars missing in XP
Opening the   *.xlb   file will restore the users toolbars to the
last time they exited out of Excel provided it is opened before
you close Excel.  Once you've closed Excel then you have
updated the  *.xlb file.

The original Excel toolbars can be restored by deleting or
renaming the  *.xlb file before bringing up Excel.   Excel will
then create  a new  *.xlb file.

HOW TO: fix toolbars missing in XP
You may be right but all I can tell you is that the Standard & Format
commandbars were completely missing from my menu, so I could not even select
them to show or hide... they were gone until I ran the Excel.xlb file. Then
they reappeared on the screen and the menu.

whatever works... :-)
