How to prevent the Update Link-question , when opening a wb

Hi
My problem is this:
We have a sumsheet which have some links to cells on other sheets in our
Novell-network.
When a user, who don't have access-right (scan) to those sheets, opens the
sumsheet, he get's a question if he want to update the linked information.
Is there a way to prevent Excel to ask this question, and keep the last
updated information in the linked cell, if the sheet can't be found.
I've tried Workbook_Open event, but this question seems to occur before the
Workbook_Open event

I'm using XL-97, and is very greatful for any help to get control over this
annoying question

Richard ?

Look at "Open" in VBA help.  The second parameter is UpdateLinks
(True/False).

I believe there's an option in the Tools/Options dialog box to suppress the
prompt (presuming your user is opening these manually).
