VBA's difference between Windows NT and Windows 98

Hi all,

I have a program to parse a big file (more than 5Mb) and put the result into
Excel spreadsheet. The program was written by VB6.
My problem is that the program runs fine under NT but doesn't run well under
98.

Under 98, it runs well for small files, like less than 5MB, but for the
larger file the Excel screen is stucked. I checked the task manager, it
shows that Excel is not responding. If I terminate Excel, my program keeps
running.

Does anyone know the reason? Thanks in advance.

May be an issue of memory - if the 98 system has less physical memory than the
NT one it may end up spending time paging information to/from disc.

Or maybe the Excel settings differ. For example Tools / Options / Calculation?
