when admin open the file, others not able to open
I have a follow up to this. We have a three machine network, I have Access
2000 and another user has 2003. The file is in a shared folder on my
computer. With very little set up the two of us have no limit on using a
file simultaneously. On some occasions the other will receive a message
stating that she has been excluded. I will compact and repair the db and
every thing goes back to normal.
Now she is getting "MS Jet database engine cannot open the file... It is
already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view
its data." This has just started within the last 48 hours. I have rebooted
my machine, her machine, closed Access here, none of that seems to work. We
are operating with Default open mode: Shared and Default record locking: No
Locks. It is my understanding that she is using Admin rights as there is no
password login. There is a Users group, but no Users.
