 Word 97 Default Line Thickness

When applying a border for the first time in a session of Word 97 the line
weight (thickness) is always ? pt, and I have to change it to ? pt to match
similar documents created with earlier versions of Word.  Does anyone know
of a way to change the default so that it is set to ? pt whenever I open up
Word 97?

Thanks for the tip.  Unfortunately Word insists on starting up with ?pt
thickness even when I save normal.dot with ?pt thickness.

Hello John!

I just tried this, and it worked fine:

Open Format, Style.
In the Styles box hilight Normal and then click on Modify.
Choose Format, Border, and then, in the Width dialogue box, choose the
thicness of line you want (3/4 pt).Click OK.
Check the Add to template box.Click Ok again and then Apply.

Hope this will help you.
