Convert AutoCorrect Word 6.0 to AutoCorrect Word 200 SR-1 on Diff't Computers
Hi Beth,
The Word 6 Supplemental macros are available from
ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/softlib/mslfiles/WD1025.exe
(89K). It includes the Autocorrect backup utility
for Wd6 (along with a Watermark one that looks
remarkably like the 'new' feature in Word 2002
for Watermarks <g>)
This article covers converting Word 6 Autocorrect
entries to Word 97 (using Method 1)
http://support.microsoft.com?ID=KB;;Q153148.
I haven't had a chance to see if the changes
to have it work with Word 2000 or 2002 are
a difference in the ACL name and the registry
key, but it's along the line that Suzanne mentioned.
[Method 2 was using the macro and linked to that
missing KB article you mentioned <g>]
=========
Hi Chuck,
In Word 6 AutoCorrect entries were stored in Normal.dot. As of Word 7 they
are stored in *.acl files.
You can use the AutoCorrect utility available in Macros6.dot to Backup your
AutoCorrect entries. Then you can use the AutoCorrect utility for Word 2000
to Restore the AutoCorrect entries.
This link contains a download to AutoCorrect.dot which contains a revised
AutoCorrect Utility for Word 2000. It will not work for Word 6.

At one time Macros6.dot was available on the MS KB at one time (Q123606)
but it indicates the article is no longer available. If you don't have the
template post back and we'll go from there.
