synchronizing public folders with personal folders

We've just started running exchange server and outlook 2000 and are
learning as we go.

We've a number of public folders available.
Three contain contact lists which are updated almost daily
We've three calendar folders as well

A number of users (but not all) have expressed a desire to have the
contact lists and calendar's combined so they only have to look in one
place.

Can this be done automatically?  I'd like to run something once a day
to synch individual contact lists and calendar lists for users who
desire to combine.

Can it be done and how?

Do you mean that you want them combined into a single folder? Don't think
that's possible since you're talking about disparate record types.

Sorry for the confusion.

We want the calendars to show up in a calendar and contact lists in
the contact list.  Is that possible?

It is better than nothing, but I'd hoped for something that allowed
one to automatically synch folders on a daily basis.

Could it be done using an offline folder?

Vince,

I've taken a look at the update you've posted below.  Thanks but I
don't believe that it will do what I need done.

Let me try again.  We've got three calendars maintained by different
people.  Each person is responsible for scheduling different
appointments or events.  I've set each calendar as a public folder so
that all users can view any or all of the three calendars.

Some of the users have asked if it would be possible to synchronize
all three calendars into one calendar which they could use as a
personal calendar.  Thus all appointments or events would show up in
one place for that user.

(In analogous fashion, it would be great to be able to do the same
thing for contact lists.  We've a number of contact lists maintained
by different organizations and would like to combine them for some
users).

I don't think there's an automatic way to do it but someone might come up
with a coded solution.
