Norton 2ooo shows date issues with several microsoft products including windows 95
Hi Earlene,
I can't say how accurate Norton2000 software by Symantec may
be in looking at your current software, or if they provide
links to the updates, but if not, for the updates
to Office97, they're available for download on
http://officeupdate.microsoft.com . There's an "SR2" item
(Office97 service Release 2) item on the yellow top section
that should help you with getting the updates you need.
If you have a retail copy of Office97 you can phone Microsoft
and get the Office97 & Y2K updates for free on CD (800) 370-9272.
For Y2K information on any MS product, you can check the
Product Guide at http://microsoft.com/y2K
Actually you're better off not sending attachments in
a newsgroup discussion group. Many folks have slow connections
or may be paying for their phone charges by the minute and
may not have a need to see the details :)
<<Hello friends,
I am not at all a technical person. I've been searching the microsoft
website for support. I'm glad I found someone to ask a question to.
Recently I ran a norton 2ooo program and it found several problems in
applications and software alike. The report I'm going to attach will
give you a better ideal about what I'm dealing with. The message mention
something about input mask and active x which I know nothing about. Also
suggested office 97 8.02 outlook SR-2 8.04, Powerpoint 97 8.0 version
7.07 1060 in this package I also have Excel, Word ,Bookshelf, Encarta
etc. The date issue is a major factor. As you all no doesn't leave me
much time. Please help! I did manage to change the 4 digit date in
windows 95 regional setting on the control panel. But as I said, the
programs and its functions have problems. The little bit I understand
about ActiveX is that it work with the functions in all other programs.
P.S. I don't know what to download. Nor, am I familiar with the process.
However, I'm willing to learn.
Please response ASAP
"Thanks" Alisha
