Default color for shading and border lines

I have a user whose default color for shading and border lines is gray some
of the time and black at other times. In the dialog box the color says
automatic. Is there a way to force it always be black? Is there something
else to look at, to account for the color changes?

Thank you.

OK, I checked out the tools, options, color and didn't see anything to do
beyond changing all the colors to black. Am I missing something here?
Thanks.

I assume you are. That is where you change the colors that are presented in
the palettes for fonts, borders, fills, etc. If you do not like the colors
offered when you want to apply a color, change them here. If you want to
change the format and layout of the new workbook that appears when you click
on the New icon, format a worksheet the way you want it, colors, font, etc.
and Save As>Book.xlt in your XL Start folder.

Well, I checked and the workstation doesn't have any xlt files in the XL
Start. For some strange reason, it seems that the lines are ok now. I will
continue to watch it.
