Blank cell in top left corner, equally-spaced X values to the right in a
row, equally-spaced Y values below in a column, Z = F(X,Y) values in cells
at intersection of X and Y. Select entire array. Use the Chart Wizard
(Surface or Column 3D).

Thanks, Mike. Thing is, I have three columns (x,y,z). Do you know how I can
(easily) arrange the z column to run diagonally from the top left to bottom
right? I have about 100 sets of co-ordinates.

cheers, Jo

Use a pivot table. Then copy, paste special values, and clear contents in
top left corner.

Since X and Y axes are category labels, irrespective of numerical values,
the 3D chart will be distorted unless the X and Y values are numerically
equally spaced.
