If this happens every time you load Excel then it must be an error in either an add-in which you have installed or in a
workbook in your XLSTART directory (usually under the Excel directory, but may be varied - see Tools / Options / General
/ Alternate Startup Directory).
To locate the cause, move all the files from the XLSTART directory to another directory.
If the problem goes away you know the problem was in one of the files you moved:
- move each one back in turn until the problem recurs - then you know which workbook to investigate
If the problem does not go away, de-install all add-ins by clearing the checkboxes in Tools / AddIns.
- if that does not solve the problem, I give up<g>
- if that does solve the problem then reinstall each add-in until you find the one causing the problem.
- seek help from the supplier of the add-in.
