Cannot open Excel file even though it was created and saved in Excel

Fo #1 / 3	Cannot open Excel file even though it was created and saved in Excel Can anyone please help me on this: I created a file in Excel 2000 and saved it, but later when I tried to open it, it gives an error message that the file format is invalid. I don't understand why it can't be opened even though it was saved as an excel file. By the way, you can open the file in Word 2000. Thanks in advance for any help. Fox

If this is possible, I think you're stuck using a backup version. (Or maybe you can copy and paste from word to excel to get a little (or a lot) of data back.)
