Newbie, Why error in OFFSET formula?

Hello, as I'm a newbie in Excel all works well but if I use the OFFSET
function  (I'm using the dutch Excel version where OFFSET is used as
VERSCHUIVING) in a cel I get an error "There's an error in the formula"

I use: =VERSCHUIVING(C3;2;3;1;1)

The cursor is on C3.

If I change VERSCHUIVING into a random word I get the same error message
with the cursor pointing to the same spot.

Does my Application not recognize the word "VERSCHUIVING"???
Or did I forgot something?

Regards,

Hello Henk,
I copied your formula and pasted it in cell C3 of my Dutch Excel 97. It
works all right. See the attached screenshot.

Hello...

After buying Excel 97 upgrade ( and book ) I still got the same error!!!

I found out that the semicolons (;) must be replaced by comma's (,) to make
the function work.

after 3 nights of working...). But I still don't understand. Is there any
menuitem in which one can define the delimiter?
Also in the helpfiles semicolons are used.
