problems installing new fonts for word2k
Are they TrueType fonts (with a TTF extension e.g. quizzical.ttf) or
PostScript (a pair of files e.g. quizzical.pfb, quizzical.pfm)? If
PostScript files: If you use Windows 9x, you will have to install
Adobe Type Manager and use that to install the fonts. If you use
Windows NT, 2000, or XP, you can also install the PostScript fonts
using Control Panel Fonts File Install new font. (I suspect you
use Windows 2000). Or you can install ATM and use that. Best to use
ATM 4.1. If you use an earlier version be sure you have the NT version
if installing on Win NT systems (including 2000 and XP).
ATM lite is a free download from adobe.com.

By the way, there are some font files on the internet that will not
work with Windows 2000 or XP even though they are OK with Win 9x
systems. For the most part, these files were converted improperly from
Mac encoding to PC encoding. Others are botched conversions from other
formats (e.g. PostScript to TrueType). Font files have to be "to
specification" to work with 2000 and XP.
