 label printing and default tray

In Office XP, specifically Word, when I try to print
labels, the printer (HP Laserjet 5p) always defaults to
the manual feed tray, even if I change the tray options
for the printer itself and in Word. Is this by default in
the new version of Word? Is there a way to change to the
default tray?

In every version of Word I have used, the Labels dialog has expected labels
to be fed from the manual feed tray, but if you create the labels as a mail
merge or use the New Document button to create a document (instead of
printing directly from the labels dialog), you can change the tray in Page
Setup for the document. If you use specific labels frequently, you might
want to save a template for them instead of using the dialog directly, as
there doesn't seem to be any way to change the paper tray through the label
definition. Once you create and save a document or template, however, you
can change and save the paper tray assigned for that document or template.
