Operation invalid without a current index

Operation invalid without a current index

When I try to open an Access 97 Database I get the
following error:

"Operation invalid without a current index"

When I press [OK], I see the database window, without any elements available
(eg:  tables, queries, etc.).
If I select the Queries tab or any other, it shows another message:

" isn't an index in this table.  Look in the Indexes collection of the
TableDef object to determine the valid index
names."

It seems that the database got damaged.    I hate this from Access that
everything is in one table.  The MDB file is
only 4 MB in size is there a utility which does a better job on the "Repair
Database" utility included in Access?

Thanks much,

Enrique

Operation invalid without a current index
Hi,

it isn't certainly so that all Access info is stored in 1 database table,
even the meta data.  Seems that the database is trying to perform some
invalid code on startup.  Have you tried the simple measure of opening the
database while pressing the shift key to surpress any startup code?

grNG
