See newsgroups access.reports 9/25/2000.  Subject: Day() function
format.  Sender: Gloria R. Semrow

I used the fcardinaldate function submitted by Marshall Barton, works
great on my report.

Just incase you don't know how to create the function:  Enter the code
in a module.  When you use expression builder you can select the
function from database functions (under built-in functions).

You would have to write a custom function that analyses the date and decided
what two letters to return, sticks them into a string with the other parts
of the data and returns the whole value as a string.

I have been meaning to have a go myself - I'll let you know if I have any
success.....

....unless anyone out there has already done it, that is.

Here is the function that works for me in a report:

Function fCardinalDate(bytDay As Byte) As String
    Select Case bytDay
        Case 1, 21, 31
            fCardinalDate = bytDay & "st"
        Case 2, 22
            fCardinalDate = bytDay & "nd"
        Case 3, 23
            fCardinalDate = bytDay & "rd"
        Case Else
            fCardinalDate = bytDay & "th"
    End Select

End Function
