Sent mail in sent box but never really sent

I am quite new to this, but I when i try to send something it goes to the
sent box but no one has received it.  May be it is something to do with
Norton anti virus?  though I think it is disabled...also SMTP is okay and
all the right boxes clicked...

Thanks - Kim

If you send yourself a message, do you receive it?

You are receiving mail?
The news message was sent, so the Outbox is not corrupt.
Delete the SMTP information and retype it,
or setup a new Identity and try it.

Have you verified that the email address(es) that you are sending to are
correct for those people and that you have typed them correctly?  How do you
know that they have not been received?

Try addressing an email message to yourself and send it.  Wait a few minutes
and then click Send/Recv.  If you get the one you sent yourself, then
there's nothing wrong on your end, unless you have their email addresses
incorrect.

Normally if you send to an incorrect address, the message is returned
by the distant ISP with an error message.

Only if the incorrect address truly doesn't exist.  It could be a valid
mailbox, but just not the right one.
